Pre-tour 1, from Örnsberg via Lindesberg to Bränntorp

We moved out from our flat in Stockholm on the last day of June. And we took the opportunity to combine it with some training. We took the bikes and loaded them full with equipment and set out for a tour that would take us to our new temporary home in Bränntorp.

Our first stop was Mariefred.

We continued to Strängnäs a town I had not visited since I did the military service there back in 1995-96. The regiment, P10, is since then closed, but the barracks looked the same but some other buildings were in stater of disrepair. We camped on the former military training area and it gave me lots of flashbacks, surprisingly only positive. Guess memories changes over time...
The town of Strängnäs also turned out to be a beautiful little town along the water of Mälaren. Don't remember I ever went down to the city during my military service so it was a new discovery for me too.
We were lucky and had good weather for the most of the time, only two days were cold, windy and had some rain. Our last stop were at the lake Hundsjön. A beautiful, quiet and private camping spot.
The cycling did really go well, we kept a slow pace but it meant longer hours in the saddle. But more enjoyable then. Had some minor problems with pain in the knees and neck but adjusting the height of the saddle helped. Totally we covered 498 kilometers during 7 days of cycling.
